Mother. Writer. Believer. Irish. Soon-to-be graduate student (I hope….I’ll apply this fall!). All those words describe me. I am a mother of three children, who knows they’re far from perfect but believes in them always. After graduating in 2000 from Michigan State University with a degree in journalism, I have returned to the institution I credit for my successful career. I work for MSU’s Public Relations Office and have the privilege of sharing, every day, how our faculty and students work to solve the world’s biggest problems. This summer I started classes again, hoping to apply to the public relations graduate program this fall, at you guessed it, MSU. In addition, I teach Sunday school and actively volunteer in my sons’ classrooms. So “no” really isn’t in my vocabulary. I try to do it all, sometimes failing. But when you have an 8-year-old smarty pants, a 5-year-old jock and a 2-year-old princess, that’s what it takes. Thank God for my wonderful husband, who is a proud stay-at-home dad. Someday, my dream is to return to Ireland’s rolling hills to write a novel while sipping beer at a local pub. Perhaps that’s dreaming, but that’s the best part of life.
